Face Primer is the key for helping us all look youthful again. Apply just before your foundation leaving out the nose and chin area. This gives your skin the most wonderful fresh glow.
My choice for Foundations are the fine water based solutions that help balance out the skin tones but are still light textured enough to even out fine lines. Also if your neck and chest get discoloured, remember to blend your base down there as well.
Best Blushers as you get older are the creamy formulas. Simply apply a dot to the balls of cheeks and blend well.
Lip Pencils will help keep lipstick in place and stop it feathering into fine lines. Never use a lip pencil that is too dark and always blend well before you apply your own lip colour.
The perfect Lip Colours are to my mind one of the most important beauty products to invest in as you get older, even if you don't have time to do your eye make-up, a bit of lippy quickly applied always brings the face alive! Tone the shade to your blusher if you can. My favourite is Bobbi Brown-Lip Shear Rosy, it seems to suit almost everyone Apply just a tad of gloss in the centre of lower lip to make them look bigger. But be careful don't over do it!

Start by choosing your complete outfit first before you even think about your hair and make-up. Make sure the colour of your outfit is a shade that suits you, obvious I know, but you would be surprised how many women get side tracked and end up being unhappy with their clothes. Then gear your make-up ( blusher and lippy) to compliment your Wedding outfit.
Cool Faces hold make-up longer, so try not to step straight out of a hot shower and then try and apply your make-up, It just won't last, so it's a waste of time!!. Spritz your face with cold water first to close the pores and cool your face. This will guarantee your make-up gets off to the best start.

The good news is Lip pencils are back in vogue: This is Buff by M&S Which I find very natural. I often apply it nearly all over the lips, then blend well with the little brush, highlight just the centre of lips with a glossy shade such as CHANEL Levres Scintillantes 46 Praline helps to make lips appear younger.

GIORGIO ARMANI is expensive but a brand worth considering. It's excellent for grown ups. Try their Lasting Silk foundation SPF 20 and If you really feel like spoiling yourself try their Face Primer as well. WWW.GIORGIOARMANIBEAUTY.COM
Proper Waterproof mascara is a must!
Then you can cry to your hearts content without looking orrible!
One of my favourites is BOURJOIS Waterproof.
Don't make the mistake of using any bright coloured eyeshadow, you will only look dated and brash. Look at the lovely Dame Helen Mirren, she always looks splendid and not a green or blue eyeshadow in sight. Liz Kitchiner did her make-up for an awards ceremony. Do: Try and remember to smile a lot whenever a photographer is lurking. It gives your face a natural lift and you'll look a much younger happier Mummy in the photos!
Don't: Wear a hat too low down your forehead. It will cast dark shadows under your eyes in photos! You'll look 100 yrs old.
Do: Think about having eyelashes and eyebrows dyed. Eyebrows naturally loose their colour as you grow up. Putting back the colour, also puts back the years! Keeping eyebrows tidy and shaped also helps give the face a natural lift. DIY and try COLORSPORT 30 day mascara kit £8. WWW.COLORSPORT.COM
Don't: Drink too much alcohol early on, it will just make you hot, sleepy and most of all look like death in the photos.
Do: If you need a little help keeping lipstick on then try LipCote over the top. I can't tell you the amount of celebrities I have needed this for. Tastes ORRIBLE but works! WWW.LIPCOTE.COM
